The Position
Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Under the direction of the Supervisor, this position will serve as an Education Program Professional within the Assessment Program Unit in the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) Office of Assessment, Data, and Accountability Management (ADAM) in Carson City. This position requires working knowledge of assessment literacy and content knowledge in English Language Arts, mathematics, and science. Experience with the Nevada Academic Content Standards (CCSS) and the Next Generation Science Standards is preferred. Experience authoring and/or editing large documents and reports is encouraged. Successful candidates will be a collaborative member of an assessment team that is responsible for federally and state mandated program areas: Smarter Balanced Assessments, End of Course Examinations, WIDA, Nevada Alternate Assessment, and ACT. This position requires strong analytical skills, current or future familiarity with state and federal assessment requirements, regulations, and policies related to assessments and communication of new and existing statutes, regulations, and policies. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area.
Special Requirements
    Positions may be required to work on evenings and weekends.
    Positions require statewide travel.
    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
