The Position
Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.
The Grants & Projects Analyst 1 will be located in Carson City or Las Vegas depending on the selected candidate. This position is with the Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Bureau of Behavioral Health Wellness and Prevetion, Office of HIV/AIDS Program. The position is responsible for providing support, as well as technical assistance, to providers, sub-recipients and community stakeholders in delivering core medical and suppport services under the Ryan White Part B grant. Will coordinate departmental and peer reviews of subgrant applications and asssists applicants during the review process; approves/disapproves subgrant budgets, modifications and allowable costs; analyzes end-of-project financial and program reports from sub-recipients; monitors programs on-site and through record reviews to ensure compliance with federal requirements; and completes required federal financial and programmatic reports. The incumbent will provide some oversight, along with other team members, for the Ryan White Part B grant including writing program reports, preparing budgets, monitoring activities, expenditures and meeting associated grant deliverables. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and one year of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas: writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and/or monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas as described above OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
