Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the Department of Health and Human Services - Desert Regional Center in the Community Adult & Children's Services Program in Las Vegas, NV. This Psychiatric Caseworker II position is responsible for overseeing case management services of 45-55 individuals with intellectual disabilities and related conditions such as Autism, Seizures, Cerebral Palsy, etc. who live at home with their families or who are living in a supported living arrangement in the community. Incumbent will perform a broad range of duties including developing, coordinating and monitoring the implementation of client treatment activities to facilitate achievement of identified goals for the specific developmental and behavioral management of each client in the least restrictive environment possible. This position requires travel throughout Las Vegas and Henderson up to 50% of the time.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level. |
