The Position
Under administrative direction of the Deputy Chief, Right-of-Way, incumbents supervise the acquisition and management of land and rights-of-ways or manage and coordinate the relocation of utilities and railroads required by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) on a statewide basis. Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position is located within the Right-of-Way Division, in Carson City. Incumbent coordinates statewide right-of-way project activities, schedules and budgets associated with utility and railroad activities, and property management programs in order to accomplish Department goals and objectives; supervises and evaluates the performance of subordinate supervisors to ensure the timely and effective operation of the Right-of-Way Division; reviews relocation plans, prior rights analysis, and procedures used to determine compensation; ensures that Department policies and procedures are followed for all project and property management related activities. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, real estate, finance, economics or related field and five years of progressively responsible right-of-way experience, two years of which involved supervising or administering one or more major activities of a comprehensive right-of-way program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
