The Position
Custodial Workers perform general cleaning services to State facilities using various cleaning equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic and orderly work environment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), Northern Nevada Child and Adolescent Services (NNCAS) is looking for a Custodial Worker 2, to be located in Reno, NV. Custodial Workers perform general cleaning services to State facilities using various cleaning equipment and materials in order to provide a safe, hygienic and orderly work environment for all users. The position requires that you be able to operate various types of powered equipment such as electric strippers, buffers, burnishers, power washers and vacuums; utilize a wide range of cleaning agents and materials; and observe appropriate safety precautions in the handling and application of products and materials; and attend in-service and training sessions as required. ****THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE PRIOR TO THE POSTED CLOSING DATE DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
