Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located in Carson City and is part of the maintenance group of the Buildings and Grounds Section of the State Public Works Division. This position will report directly to the Facility Supervisor I. Performs journey level skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, alter and/or maintain buildings, facilities, grounds and equipment. This includes plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, mechanical, equipment mechanical and repair, concrete work, welding/machining. Project planning, cost analysis and implementation are performed.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs and ordering materials; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
A valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
This position may require flexible/rotating shifts.
This position may require work on nights/weekends/holidays.
