Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVACR) Specialist's perform skilled work in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is with the State Public Works Division, Buildings and Grounds section, located in Las Vegas. The HVACR Specialist I position will service, maintain and repair HVAC equipment related to DDC control, automation, chillers, boilers, pumps, hydronic, valves, package systems, split systems, cooling towers, fan coils, VAV's and other related HVAC equipment, prepare and maintain maintenance reports and purchasing documents. This job will require traveling to multiple locations and may require overtime in emergency situations and flexing work schedule for operational needs. Please note that persons offered employment must complete a successful background check.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Completion of a recognized HVACR apprenticeship program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules. |
|
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
|
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
