JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
This position is located within the Structures Division in Carson City. Incumbents will perform bridge load ratings and provide technical and administrative support for the Consultant Load Rating Program; assist the Nevada Department of Transportation's (NDOT's) Over dimensional Permit Section; and perform special bridge inspections to determine load rating impacts of damage or deterioration. ***THIS POSITION MAY BE USED TO UNDERFILL FOR A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER.***

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field; OR two years of journey level technical experience equivalent to an Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
