Executive Branch Auditors plan, organize and conduct comprehensive reviews of programs and activities of executive branch agencies in accordance with the standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Executive Branch Auditors plan, organize and conduct comprehensive audits of executive branch agencies in accordance with the standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Audits are intended to provide recommendations to executive branch management which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of state agencies. Auditors present their audit reports to the Executive Branch Audit Committee (comprised of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Treasurer, Controller, Attorney General and an appointed Public Member) at a public meeting.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Current licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Nevada and two years of professional level auditing experience; OR a Master's degree in business administration, accounting, finance or closely related field and three years of professional auditing experience. At least one year of the experience must have included work in performance, compliance or financial audits; OR current certification as a Certified Internal Auditor and three years of professional auditing experience which included work in performance, compliance, or financial audits or reviews.

Incumbents licensed as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) must maintain their license as a condition of continuing employment.
Incumbents licensed as Certified Internal Auditors must maintain their license as a condition of continuing employment.
Incumbents who possess current licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in another state or jurisdiction must obtain certification by reciprocity in the State of Nevada within the probationary period.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
