Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS) is currently recruiting for a Psychiatric Caseworker II. The incumbent may be assigned to any SNAMHS work location. This position will initially be located at West Las Vegas Clinic at 6161 W. Charles BLVD, Las Vegas, Nevada. To best serve our clients work assignments and locations can change.
The position requires crises intervention techniques, documenting client progress, assessing client needs and resources available; case management practices and procedures; laws governing abuse and neglect of clients; treatment planning and implementation; and educating clients and their families on issues of daily living, coping skills and employment. The position will coordinate and obtain community services for clients, actively participate on the treatment team, and develop treatment plans, and provide crisis intervention. There is an emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, formulating individualized treatment plans that leads to self sufficiency, and ensuring compliance with CMS standards.

Through a team approach, we provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. Successful candidates will possess strong crisis intervention techniques; case management practices and procedures; knowledge of laws governing abuse and neglect of clients; and treatment planning and implementation techniques. Incumbents will document client progress; assess client needs and resources available; and educate clients and their families on issues of daily living, coping skills and employment.
Some of the services we provide include Inpatient Services, Mobile Crises, Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Intensive Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Residential Support Programs, Mental Health Court, Consumer Advocacy, Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) and Programs for Assertive C.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level. |

Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required and is a condition of continuing employment. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
