Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
The Office of the State Treasurer is recruiting for an Information Technology (IT) Professional 3. The position will report directly to the IT Professional 4. The position is responsible for analyzing, developing, implementing, maintaining and modifying computer operations, networks, databases, and applications. Incumbents will be required to perform duties in more than one IT specialization area. This person should be a self-starter, proactive and work independently. This position may be located in either the Las Vegas or the Carson City office.
The ideal candidate will have experience with computer operations, such as direct help desk support and mainframe and server operations; system administration, such as communications, mainframes, servers, virtual servers with VMware, and OmniCube; operating systems and auxiliary software packages required to support various information systems and back-up and recover the Treasurer's Office software and data; and database administration, such as configuring database, tuning performance, and data integrity, including the back-up and recovery of the database.
In addition, this position will work with the IT Professional 4 to maintain the Treasurer's Office technology infrastructure; be involved with troubleshooting, monitor the Help-Desk environment with application related issues, providing technical support to end users, serve as a liaison to vendor technical personnel, and configure and install operating systems. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and three years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analyst and development, and/or information security, one year of which was at the journey level; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Professional II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
