Health Care Coordinators perform professional work related to Medicaid program operations and auditing providers to ensure compliance with program policies and regulations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is located within the Department of Health and Human Services/Division of Health Care Financing and Policy/Reno District Office. Under the direction of the Social Services Manager 3, District Office Manager, incumbent will serve as a team leader to support supervisors. Incumbent is responsible for monitoring quality assurance for: Facility Outreach and Community Integration Services (FOCIS), Care Coordination, Katie Beckett Eligibility, and Serious Occurrence reporting. Incumbent will also be responsible for overseeing special projects; monitoring monthly stats at the discretion of the district office managers; and become the liaison for outreach for the Northern Nevada District Offices. This incumbent may be asked to attend and participate in management meetings with the District Office Manager. This position requires approximately fifty percent or less travel time within the Reno and rural areas of Northern Nevada.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Licensure as a Social Worker or professional licensure or certification in a medical specialty applicable to the assignment, and two years of professional experience providing case management services in a social or health related field; OR one years of experience as a Health Care Coordinator II in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Professional Licensure or certification as a social worker, nurse on in a medical specialty issued by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Nevada at the time of appointment. Incumbents must maintain professional licensure or certification in their specialty as a condition of continuing employment.
Ability to travel over a wide geographic area, either by motor vehicle or air plane, including commuter flights.
