Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is located in Carson City within the Specification's Division CADD Support Section. Incumbent will assist in the development and implementation of polices and procedures related to the Department's CADD operations. The incumbent will receive training and assist with configuration of CADD software, workstations and servers to aid in the standardization of electronically produced construction plans; develop training programs and training materials on the use of CADD software such as MicroStation CONNECT/OpenRoads Designer, ProjectWise, InterPlot and other CADD applications; provide CADD support by recommending solutions to engineering staff; assist in creating and maintain electronic resources for the software, with the creation of projects and general maintenance of the ProjectWise system, and evaluate new engineering software and technologies.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or closely related engineering field and two years of professional engineering experience; OR Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern, and two years of professional engineering experience in civil engineering or closely related engineering field; OR two years of experience as a Staff I, Associate Engineer or Supervisor I, Associate Engineer in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
