The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The position is within the Fiscal Services Section at the headquarters office. This position is the agency's primary manager for federally funded sub-grant contracts and develops the policy and methods for this function as well as monitors all agency sub-grants in accordance with the code of federal regulations. The position also tracks and processes federally funded request for reimbursements for approximately eighty eight sub-grantees; ensures all sub-granting documents and processes are in compliance with federal parent award documents as well as compliance with the State Administrative Manual; conducts small federal cash draws bi-weekly in accordance to federal regulations and cash management protocols; responsible for federal financial reporting for agency small grants as well as completes quarterly federal request for reimbursements in accordance to federal agency timelines; conducts a monthly audit of the agencies fiscal documents to ensure compliance with the State Administrative Manual and internal audit policies; and interfaces with Department leadership, Administrative Services Officers, Department of Administration staff and other divisional employees requiring a candidate to have strong interpersonal skills. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes
    Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 6 years of experience, 2 years of paraprofessional experience and 4 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.
Special Requirements
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check may be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience with grants and/or sub-grants is required.
