Program Officers administer a program or major component of a program by planning, coordinating and managing services and activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and established program performance standards and objectives.
Incumbents recommend and implement changes to work plans, program performance standards and objectives for providing services, and eligibility requirements as permitted by program regulations and guidelines; and may train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff and/or a staff consisting of several students, volunteers and/or contract staff.
This position is located within the Department of Business & Industry, Real Estate Division located in Las Vegas, NV. The incumbent will develop and provide educational training, in person, to executive boards of directors and homeowners throughout Nevada regarding NRS and NAC 116 and 116A. The incumbent will prepare, update and make available a short-hand training manual of the law for constituents to better understand their rights and responsibilities while living and working in Common-Interest Communities (CIC). The position will work closely with the Education and Information Officer to continuously update and revise the Division website regarding education, uploading all class materials, handouts, flowcharts, etc. as necessary. Additionally, the incumbent will utilize email blasts to communicate information regarding upcoming training and events to registered residents throughout Nevada; utilize Skype to present trainings to Northern Nevada throughout the year; create and maintain a desk manual for the position of Program Officer I; and prepare and present oral and written reports to the Ombudsman on a monthly basis or as requested. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, or other discipline related to the program assignment; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of para-professional program support experience equivalent to an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service which required the application of State and/or federal laws, policy and procedures; reviewing documents prepared by others for program compliance determinations; or preparing reports which summarize financial and statistical information; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
