Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Under close supervision of a higher-level IT professional, incumbents acquire the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities and gain experience in a specialized information technology area such as systems administration, network administration, database administration, or applications analysis and development. Incumbents perform a variety of IT-related dutes as trainees.
This position works within the Department of Administration's Enterprise IT Services (EITS) Division, Application Services unit and is located in Carson City, NV. This recruitment will be used to underfill an IT Professional 2. Automatic progression may occur upon the supervisor's approval and when the minimum qualifications of the higher level have been met. IT Professionals within this unit are tasked with analyzing, developing, implementing, maintaining and modifying in-house, vendor created and for purchase (COTS) applications. The IT Professional Trainee will perform junior level application developer duties in support of the full Software Development Life Cycle processes, maintenance, and application enhancements. This position will also be trained to perform all duties in conformance to the EITS Division's application development standards. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency. Although not required, experience working within a Criminal Justice environment is preferred. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field; OR two years of relevant technical experience equivalent to an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

This position requires either professional or academic experience programming in C# and/or VB.net using Visual Studio 2010 or greater.
