The Position
Park Aides perform routine custodial and general facility and equipment maintenance duties, assist visitors, collect fees and assist in the operation of a State park.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
Positions are located at Big Bend State Recreation Area in Laughlin, Nevada and are seasonal, mostly full time. Hours and length of employment will vary by position, but will not exceed 9 months. Selected applicants will be contacted for interviews as vacancies occur.
Under direct supervision, seasonal Park Aid I positions perform routine custodial and general facility and grounds maintenance; assist visitors and provide information related to park facilities, policies, rules and fees; assist with educational programs and displays; collect park user fees and make change as necessary; issue entrance permits; prepare routine reports; and maintain records as assigned. Park Aids will complete special projects as assigned including light construction, fencing, and sign replacement; perform routine preventive maintenance on park vehicles and equipment; check fluid levels; clean and wax vehicles as needed; and report malfunctions and problems.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
