Within the Governor's Office of Energy (GOE), Energy Program Managers plan, organize, coordinate,
administer, direct and evaluate complex statewide energy programs and activities to ensure compliance with
State and federal laws and regulations. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Energy Programs Manager will focus on the agency's renewable energy, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle programs and statewide energy programs (i.e. Nevada Electric Highway, Performance Contracting, Green Building Tax Abatements, Direct Energy Assistance Loans, Building Energy Codes, Renewable Energy Tax Abatements, Revolving Loans for Renewable Energy, State Energy Program Formula Grant, and Home Energy Retrofit Opportunities for Seniors) to ensure compliance with State and federal laws and regulations. The Energy Programs Manager will also prepare and monitor budgets for energy programs, assess operational needs and cost factors, and manage expenditures.
The Energy Programs Manager will research bills and monitor changes during the legislative session, determine impacts of proposed legislation, and recommend appropriate courses of action for the agency. Writing and communication skills are essential. This announcement will be used to fill multiple vacancies.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field and five years of experience which includes the planning, design, administration and evaluation of energy programs and projects, fiscal management, and strategic planning. Two years of the experience must have been in a supervisory capacity. OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |

Travel up to 25% of the time is required. |
