The Position
Personnel Technicians perform a wide variety of personnel activities including personnel records processing, recruitment and examining, new hire orientation, list certification, and payroll support duties.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This PART-TIME position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the Department of Health and Human Services - Human Resource Section, located in Carson City, NV. Aging and Disability Services (ADSD) provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, and friendly co-workers, and promotes a positive working environment. The mission of ADSD is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible. This permanent part-time position will oversee all temporary contracts for the division and process new, updated, or cancellation of contracts accordingly. The incumbent will work closely with coworkers, agency supervisors, managers, and local temporary employment agencies. Other human resource related duties will be assigned when time allows to include: ESMT processing, submittal of staffing requisitions, evaluation review, and other projects as assigned. This position is budgeted for 20.24 hours per week, but the agency has funding and prefers a 30 hour per week schedule with flexibility for additional hours. The agency is flexible the incumbents schedule relating to days and times worked.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of technical personnel/payroll experience; OR one year of experience as a Personnel Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
