The Position
Photogrammetrist/Cartographer's perform remote sensing work in the preparation of contour maps, terrain models, profile sheets; digital animated fly-through and related mapping materials requiring the application of photogrammetric or cartographic techniques.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position is located in Carson City within the Location Division. Incumbent is responsible for overseeing the General Mapping Program for the department to include supervision of the cartography staff; managing the statewide mapping program; distribution of mapping products both internally and to the public; project scheduling; field verification and coordination with other sections, divisions and departments within the State. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in photogrammetry, cartography, physical science, geography, civil engineering or related field and two years of progressively responsible experience which included completing mapping projects in consultation with others; completing survey, triangulation, and other mathematical programs required for mapping compilation; preparing photo flight plans for mapping projects; and computer aided-design; OR an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in photogrammetry, cartography, physical science, geography, mapping, surveying, civil engineering or related field and three years of progressively responsible experience; OR one year of experience as a Photogrammetrist/Cartographer II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.

    Experience with ArcMap and Illustrator in the creation of publication quality mapping products.
    Experience maintaining data in an enterprise GIS environment.
    Experience in Microsoft Access.
