Library Technicians/Assistants perform duties in support of the operation of libraries that house and provide access to a variety of materials in a variety of formats. Incumbents perform and/or supervise technical, paraprofessional and administrative duties within one or more functional areas of the library including acquisitions; cataloging; circulation; collection maintenance; document delivery/interlibrary loan; government documents; reference, serials and/or metadata, electronic resources, and digital services.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is in the State Library and Archives building in Carson City. The incumbent will coordinate the functions of the Nevada Library Cooperative(CoOp) in relation to the daily activities as well as emergency or planned projects including: Coordinate, plan and implement state-wide strategic planning grant, Edge, E-Rate and Community Connect Initiatives, and NV Humanities projects in collaboration with NSLAPR, OSIT, NV Humanities Council, vendors and other partners; Coordinate, plan and implement organization's structural and operational equipment migration, coordinating with vendors and members; Coordinate, plan and implement training opportunities, promulgate best practices, provide guidance, direction and advice to members on projects and operations; Bylaws, interlocal agreement and contract updates and management; Coordinator/Director position refinement; Assist in collaboration with NSLAPR with Automate Lincoln County Library and Storey County Reopening projects- barcoding and cataloging the collection, issuing library cards, installing software, training staff, budgeting and resource acquisition; Budget and contracts creation, maintenance and transparency: coordinate with vendors, report to Board of Directors, records maintenance; Coordinate, plan, schedule and implement Director and Catalog team meetings in accordance with member needs and NRS; perform all follow up functions; Coordinate with members and vendors on a wide variety of projects; Technical troubleshooting and maintenance including server, exchange, database, network, software, web modification and maintenance; coordinate with vendors, members and IT as needed; Run reports, analyze statistics, perform purchases on behalf of members, maintain accurate physical inventory, files and records.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of increasingly responsible experience working in a library; OR one year of experience as a Library Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
