Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation,
employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
Personnel Analyst 2 will possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is in the Compensation, Classification & Recruitment section. Responsibilities include developing and managing a variety of activities such as recruitment; layoff consultation; examination development; strategic/workforce planning strategies; and providing NVAPPS Training on a continuing basis. Experience recruiting for a variation of IT related positions is preferred. This position may also perform duties related to classification. This is an underfill for a Personnel Analyst III. Auto progression to the III level will occur upon meeting minimum qualifications, satisfactory performance and the approval of the appointing authority.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field and two years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Position Experience
Experience with planning, developing and conducting recruitments for a large number of diverse jobs in a public or large private sector environment.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
