JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Public Service Interns receive training and complete a variety of assignments in staff activities directly relating to their major course of study while enrolled in an educational institution.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
The position is located in the Bureau of Air Pollution Control in the Compliance Branch. The position will be responsible for assisting with site inspections to determine compliance with applicable air quality regulations and permit conditions and generation of detailed inspection reports. This position is also responsible for review of source test protocols, observation of source tests, and review of source test reports to ensure adherence to approved source test methods. This position will interact with the general public on a daily basis to address questions and complaints regarding air quality. The incumbent must be a registered student in a college-level science, engineering or other closely related field of study. Undergraduate interns are required to complete at least six (6) semester units during each fall and spring semester or during each fall, winter and spring quarter, while they are employed in the position. Travel up to 25% of the time may be required.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or the equivalent and enrollment and continued successful performance in an academic program related to the field of employment at an accredited college or university.
Special Notes
Employment is not to exceed six months from the date of graduation.
Employment in this class will not lead to permanent status in State service.
