The Position
Park Aides perform routine custodial and general facility and equipment maintenance duties, assist visitors, collect fees and assist in the operation of a State park.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
Positions are seasonal and mainly full time. Hours and length of employment will vary by park and position, but will not exceed 9 months. Selected applicants will be contacted for interviews as vacancies occur. Please indicate which State Park(s) you are applying for. Under direct supervision, seasonal Park Aid I positions perform routine custodial and general facility and grounds maintenance, assist visitors and provide information related to park facilities, policies, rules and fees, and assist with educational programs and displays. Park Aids collect park user fees and make change as necessary; issue entrance permits; prepare routine reports and maintain records as assigned; complete special projects as assigned including light construction, fencing, and sign replacement; perform routine preventive maintenance on park vehicles and equipment; check fluid levels; clean and wax vehicles as needed; and report malfunctions and problems. Some incumbents may primarily work in the gift shop, fee booth, aquatic invasive species or weed abatement program.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
