The Position
Health Program Managers provide administrative direction for programs related to maternal, child and family health, nutrition, disease control, or other health programs.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position is with the Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Public Health Preparedness in Carson City, NV. The position will manage the development of and keep current all critical program plans for the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR); manage the development and utilization of evaluation methodologies, tools and procedures; build and conduct surveys and grant proposals and applications to acquire or maintain funding for the program; implement new programs and services; and direct and participate in the preparation and maintenance of grants and budgets and other required documentation. As a Division employee, incumbents are expected to be available for call-back during public health incidents and/or emergencies to perform duties specific to this position or to perform other duties as requested associated with a response role. This may entail working a non-traditional work schedule or at another duty station during the incident and/or emergency. Travel up to 25% of the time may be required.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, human services, social science, behavioral science or related field and three years of health-related professional experience, one year of which was supervisory and included providing or coordinating the delivery of health care services, budget monitoring, and interpretation of regulations, policies and directives related to health care delivery systems; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Pursuant to NRS 632, a bachelor's degree from a school of professional nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing is equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
