Maintenance Repair Specialists perform a variety of skilled work in two or more of the mechanical and construction trades in order to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This is a Maintenance Repair Spec 1 position with the Department of Administration with the Public Works Division in the Buildings and Grounds Section located in Carson City, NV. The incumbent will report directly to the Facility Supervisor III. The incumbent will perform journey level skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, alter, and/or maintain buildings, facilities, grounds and equipment. This will include plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, mechanical, equipment and repair, concrete work, welding/machining, and evaporative coolers. The incumbent will also be responsible for project planning, cost analysis, and project implementation.

Four years of progressively responsible experience under the supervision of journey level trades persons in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs and ordering materials; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

This position is subject to standby and call back status. |

Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

A valid driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |

This position may require flexible/rotating shifts. |

This position may require work on nights/weekends/holidays. |
