The Position
Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located in our outpatient behavioral health center in Silver Springs, NV. Psychiatric Caseworkers perform casework duties; assess and reassess people's needs for any medical, educational, social or other services which can include vocational, financial (work), transportation and housing. This position also monitors the progress of clients and providers towards meeting the goals of the plan of care. The position will determine the level of assistance needed; and refer clients to appropriate services according to the plan of care in order to meet clients' emotional, behavioral, social, financial, health, vocational, transportation, and basic living needs. All Psychiatric Caseworker 2 activities are in accordance with the State Medicaid Services Manual Chapter 2500 and in accordance with state laws, Division policies and agency procedures. This position will understand housing/residential requirements, both at a state and federal level, in order to participate in meetings at the agency and clinic levels. The position will participate in agency training, both in the development and presentation of training materials. Rural Clinics is comprised of 16 outpatient behavioral health clinics located throughout rural Nevada, providing a continuum of services (e.g., targeted case management, basic skills training, psychosocial rehabilitation, therapy, testing, jail diversion, and children's programs, crisis intervention) to both children and adults. Travel up to 25% of the time may be required.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
