Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) is currently recruiting for Licensed Psychologist I positions. These positions are anticipated to be assigned to the East Las Vegas Clinic and serve to support outpatient forensic clients in various programs such as Mental Health Court, Assisted Outpatient Treatment. Work responsibilities are under the direction of the Licensed Psychologist II for SNAMHS and include providing psychological assessment and consultations, developing behavioral intervention strategies, and group and individual psychotherapy. Incumbents will provide crisis intervention, help develop safety plan recommendations for patients, and conduct patient interviews. Psychologists are members of interdisciplinary treatment teams along with psychiatry, social services, nursing, and caseworkers. Incumbents will use the recovery model, formulate individualized treatment plans and ensure compliance with CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations and SNAMHS policies. Licensed Psychologists provide clinical supervision for trainees at all levels and serve on committees for SNAMHS. Licensed Psychologists must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of employment. Travel up to 25% of the time may be required.

Incumbents will work an innovative variable schedule and are exempt from overtime. East Las Vegas Clinic is a National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment site. Additionally, employment with the State meets eligibility requirements to apply for the federal student loan forgiveness program after 10 years of employment and payments on loans.
