The Position
Positions in this series provide care, training, and treatment to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24-hour/7-day a week treatment home setting.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is seeking applicants with a passion to make a difference in the lives of Nevada?s Children! The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting Treatment Home Supervisor to be located in Sparks, NV. This position provides care, training and treatment to adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24 hour/7 day a week residential setting at the Adolescent Treatment Center, ATC. Youth served by ATC are designated as Severely Emotionally Disturbed (SED) and exhibit significant behavioral challenges including physical and verbal aggression, non-compliance, challenges to authority figures, school problems (academic and behavioral), peer and social difficulties, and family issues.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, child development, psychology, counseling, social work, or closely related field and two years of experience in the care, training, and/or treatment of children or adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the bachelor's degree level.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
    Work on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
The Examination
TREATMENT HOME SUPERVISOR (10.146) Training and Experience Exam
The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. Your score will be based on the information provided in your application and your responses to the questions asked below. If there are several parts to a question, answer each part separately. Along with each answer, identify the position(s) and/or training (as described in your application) where you gained the background asked for in the question. Absence of experience/training asked for in a question is not necessarily disqualifying. Failure to answer the questions will result in a score based solely on the application.

Those applicants deemed amongst the most qualified will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
1) Describe your experience, including number of years and where the experience was gained, implementing behavior modification techniques, and teaching, training and providing treatment for behaviorally and emotionally disturbed children or adolescents in a mental health setting.
2) Describe your experience, including number of years and where the experience was gained, implementing the Boys Town Psycho-educational Model. If your experience is with a different model, please state the name of the model and explain.
3) Do you have a Master's degree (or higher) in Social or Behavioral Science? List any degrees you hold including level and major.
4) Describe your experience, including number of years and where the experience was gained, training and supervising staff involved in providing care and treatment to children and adolescents.
5) Do you have current Crisis Prevention and Response (CPAR) certification? If yes, you must attach your certification to your application to receive credit.
