The Position
Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
The State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA) is a young, small agency with big impact. The SPCSA is a statewide charter school authorizer and serves as the local educational agency for the fastest growing and most rapidly diversifying public school system in Nevada. Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of the SPCSA, the Education Programs Professional (EPP) ensures state and federal programs are aligned with the best principles in authorizing quality schools, holding schools accountable for results, and ensuring access and equity. The EPP works to safeguard the rights of students and families; provide program oversight to ensure schools' fulfillment of federal and state laws and policies; monitor school choice and enrollment practices; and investigate parent grievances. The position plans, organizes, directs, trains, monitors, and evaluates Special Education programs as well as a combination of other federal and state programs such as Pre-Kindergarten, Title I, Title II, Title III, and Zoom program grants for autonomous public schools of choice. Key activities include conducting special education and other program monitoring, performing site visitations and making judgments or determinations of compliance with applicable rules and guidelines, and determining school technical assistance needs. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area.
Special Notes
    This position requires a pre-employment background investigation as a condition of employment.
Special Requirements
    Positions require statewide travel.
    Some positions require a Nevada teacher's license at the time of application.
    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience administering a Special Education program at a school, district or state level is required.
    Valid Nevada teaching license is required.
