The Position
Personnel Technicians perform a wide variety of personnel activities including personnel records processing, recruitment and examining, new hire orientation, list certification, and payroll support duties.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS) in the Human Resources Department located at 1321 S. Jones Blvd, Las Vegas. Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. Through a team approach, we provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. This is an under fill for a Personnel Technician II position. This position works with department managers and supervisors to fill various agency vacancies; assists in the development of recruitment plans; reviews employment applications and assist applicants with the application process; reviews hiring packets for required approvals and documentation in accordance with personnel regulations; processes various types of employee personnel transactions; and maintains personnel and recruitment files and records in accordance with established records retention schedules. This is a full-time position with a work schedule of 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday with Saturday and Sunday off. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical experience that included extensive public contact and customer service, recordkeeping, document processing, and the application of policies and regulations; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
