The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is located at the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) within the Financial Management Division in Carson City. The incumbent will oversee various phases of transportation projects to include: ensuring the department's obligations are meeting all federal requirements, ensuring projects are appropriately funded, obtaining federal approval, and authorizing the projects to commence to advertisement; maintaining fund balances of Federal aid apportionments and projects using financial reports to determine the status of expenditures versus programmed amounts; and keeping informed of the latest federal and state policies and procedures. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes
    Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 6 years of experience, 2 years of paraprofessional experience and 4 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience with federal and/or state fiscal management systems used in managing, reconciling, and accounting for several types of funding sources is required.
