The Position
Construction Project Coordinators perform a variety of building construction coordination and inspection work requiring a broad knowledge of construction principles and practices, including specialty areas such as roofing, asbestos, underground storage tanks, paving, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) structural and access requirements, and facility analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position works within the Department of Administration's State Public Works Division, located in Carson City, NV. The incumbent reports directly to the Construction Project Coordinator 3. This position is tasked with: Preparation and publishing of Facility Condition Analysis draft reports. Will assist other departments and agencies in the use of facilities data. Facilities Program Management and in organizing interagency workshops. This position will be surveying buildings and sites, identifying repairs including roofing and other building envelope needs, architectural finishes, ADA requirements, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical, fire/life safety, paving, security and other repairs. The position will also develop scopes of work and estimate construction costs for repairs. This position has a travel requirement of up to 25%.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Associate's degree from an accredited college or technical school with major coursework in architecture, engineering or related field and two years of building construction experience, one year of which included a broad range of construction coordination work involving plumbing, heating and electrical systems, air conditioning systems, earthwork and landscaping, requiring the review and interpretation of construction contracts and plan specifications, building codes, architectural drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with plan design, specifications and contract agreements; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR one year of experience as a Construction Project Coordinator I in Nevada State service.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
    Travel up to 25% of the time is required.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
