The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position supports the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Investigation Division, Nevada Threat Analysis Center (NTAC) as a Senior Intelligence Analyst. Duties include, but are not limited to: managing the NTAC Intelligence Analysis Section; supervising a diverse team of Intelligence Analysts; responsible for management of complex intelligence programs, analysis, and production; managing various database and software applications; managing the NTAC Tips/Leads/Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) process; development and maintenance of policies, procedures, and production standards; employee performance appraisals and training; provide fiscal and budget input; strategic planning and leadership; promoting and supporting NTAC efforts to counter terrorism/criminal threats; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with the federal, state, local, tribal government and private sector partners; facilitating and participating in NTAC information sharing and outreach meetings, to include intelligence briefings; and applying privacy, civil rights and civil liberty protections to the collection, analysis, and dissemination of criminal information. Must be able to apply for and successfully obtain and maintain a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secret level security clearance as a requirement for the job. ***THE SELECTED CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A FEDERAL SECURITY CLEARANCE AS A CONDITION OF CONTINUING EMPLOYMENT. ***THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO CALLBACKS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAY WORK. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes
    Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 7 years of experience of which 2 years were at the paraprofessional level and 5 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
    This position requires up to 25% travel.
    As a condition of employment, pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety.  Persons offered employment in this position must first submit to a pre-employment screening test for controlled substances.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience managing all elements of the intelligence cycle; OR experience collecting, processing, analyzing and disseminating intelligence information.
    Experience managing the development and preparation of jointly produced strategic and/or tactical intelligence products.
