The Position
Health Program Managers provide administrative direction for programs related to maternal, child and family health, nutrition, disease control, or other health programs.
Health Program Manager II's supervise both supervisory and professional staff engaged in provision of health-related services and are responsible for long range, broad-based planning and policy development for a statewide program.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health (http://dpbh.nv.gov/), Community Health Services (CHS) is recruiting for a Health Program Manager II. The position will be located in Carson City, NV. The incumbent will oversee grants managemant and project deliverables for the CHN program. This includes the partnership to oversee operations of rural epidemiology, rural public health preparedness, various contracts and grants (e.g., Public Health Emergency Preparedness, Title V (Maternal Child Health), Title X (Family Planning), HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections, TB, among others), program budgets, and professional and administrative support staff. Incumbent has primary responsibility to implement and monitor program budgets and assign duties to professional and administrative support staff. We have 13 CHN clinics throughout rural and frontier Nevada.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, human services, social science, behavioral science or related field and four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a health-related field, two years of which included providing or coordinating the delivery of health care services, budget preparation and control, and the interpretation and implementation of complex regulations. Of the two years of experience, one year must have included supervision of professional staff; OR one year of experience as a Health Program Manager I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
