Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE).
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is hiring for an Administrative Assistant III at the Reno Youth Parole Office, under the direct guidance of the Parole Bureau Unit Manager, the position provides program support duties by following policies, procedures and specific instructions to ensure safety, security and general welfare of the youth is maintained; and adheres to standardized office methods, Nevada Revised Statutes, State Administrative manual, Nevada Administrative code, and Division of Child and Family Services Policies. This position performs general office duties which include answering phones; performing data entry; providing high quality customer service; provide administrative support to all department staff; and maintaining confidentiality and privacy of client information.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
