The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE).
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is located within the Department of Business and Industry, Nevada Transportation Authority in Las Vegas. This position provides administrative support for the agency via a multitude of functions including but not limited to the oversight of front reception staff and functioning as primary support and backup thereto. The incumbent will review and continuously maintain the agency website; complete the processing of various time-sensitive communications to various parties according to established distribution lists; process and maintain accurate tracking of agency legal noticing via newspaper/media sources; maintain and monitor financial information related to agency accounts, revenues and expenses; and ensure accurate and timely maintenance of agency database. This position works with a variety of department and agency staff as well as various external customers on a daily basis. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
