Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVACR) Specialist's perform skilled work in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position will operate, maintain, repair and install components related to heating and ventilation systems in use at our facilities; service and maintain all air conditioning units, evaporative coolers, chiller units and refrigeration equipment in use throughout the facilities to industry standards; update and develop preventive maintenance programs on said equipment; troubleshoot and/or replace equipment or components to HVAC and refrigeration equipment; apply knowledge of HVAC service practices and procedures; use and read equipment drawings, refrigerant recovery equipment and other equipment needed to accomplish jobs; respond to service calls for temperature adjustments, reports of water or gas leaks or equipment malfunction; ensure systems are properly running even after an outside contractor has completed work; apply technical assistance, monitoring job progress to ensure compliance with standards, codes and time frames; initiate work orders for any non-scheduled or emergency repair; perform system maintenance on low and high pressure steam and hot water boilers, fuel and combustion systems, forced air furnaces, radiant heaters, etc.; and diagnose malfunctions of equipment. Duties also include: program and schedule automated controls on line with the use of a computer; respond promptly to emergency call-outs when required; comply with all EPA regulations; assist with the upkeep of building and maintenance by assisting other skilled trades.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Completion of a recognized HVACR apprenticeship program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    This position requires the incumbent to be EPA certified to recover refrigerant and recharge equipment.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    Distinguish colors and shades of colors. / Will be working on complex electrical control systems where differentiation between wire coloring and shades of coloring is critical for safety.
    Speak and read fluent English. Printed instructions, safety precautions, product labeling, OEMs and SDS's are in English.
    Ability to detect odors or smells. Will be working in areas where detection of odors indicating gas leaks or shorts in electrical wiring is critical for safety.
    Ability to work at elevated levels; e.g., on a roof, ladder, man lift and scaffolding. This position requires frequent work at an elevated level.
