Business Process Analysts apply an in-depth knowledge of the agency's program areas to define and implement a solution to a given problem that requires an individually tailored response for end-user requirements.
Under limited supervision, incumbents perform the full range of journey level duties described in the series concept. Incumbents may serve as a project lead as assigned.
The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) is currently recruiting for a Business Process Analyst 2 located in the Project Management Office unit at the DWSS Central Office. The Business Process Analyst 2 position is an integral part of our Information Systems Project Management organization. This position provides project management support to include project communications, project status reporting, contract management, create and maintain standard agency project-related documentation for the PMO; resource management, evaluate PMO industry best practices; and conduct detailed alternative analyses. This position serves as a liaison between the agency's program/policy staff and technical staff, working closely with State and County program staff, technicians, vendors, and other agencies/entities involved with project planning and execution. This position provides support in preparing information technology funding and advance planning documents both State and Federal.
The incumbent will analyze business processes; develop and maintain requirements documents and project plans by participating in agency program planning; monitor schedule and financial aspects of project life cycles; implement system changes by participating in planning, development, and evaluation; analyze the regulatory environment by reviewing new and revised Federal and State laws, regulations, and agency policies and interpreting their effect on the program and project requirements area; and coordinate with other professional staff.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, management information systems, or other disciplines related to the assignment and two years of professional experience in a related program area analyzing and interpreting program laws, regulations, policies and procedures, which included one year of experience applying recognized data processing concepts to business process planning and analyses; OR one year of experience as a Business Process Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

Professional experience in one or more of the following public assistance programs: Child Support Enforcement, TANF (cash assistance), Child Care, SNAP (food stamps), Medicaid, and Energy Assistance programs.

Professional experience in one or more of the following project management processes: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Control, Communications Contract Management and Closing. |
