The Position
Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located with Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) in Sparks NV, and is part of the outpatient Residential Quality Assurance Team. This position will ensure that all housing providers, who provide residential support for clients that suffer from serious mental illness, are upholding the legislatively approved standards of service. The incumbent will take part in the Community Based Living Arrangement (CBLA) certification process which involves in-home environmental inspections, enforcement of corrective action plans, issuance of sanctions on sub-standard performance, reinforcement of compliance and the facilitation of mandated provider trainings. The Psychiatric Casework 2 will work with a dynamic interdisciplinary team in all aspects of upholding the certification process including making home visits, conducting provider trainings through psycho-educational methodology, and collaborating with other departments and community agencies to ensure quality-assured residential services for NNAMHS clients. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday. Travel up to 25% of the time may be required. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level.

    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
