Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located within District III, Elko. Incumbent will provide critical support for both district survey functions and manage, inspect, and administer district contracts; supervise the District III survey crew and will supervise a construction crew in the absence of the resident engineer; make sure bid packages and all associated tasks are completed thoroughly, maintains knowledge of most current practices, specifications, and details for incorporation into District Contract documents; attend construction meetings, perform oversight to staff/contractor, and provide the necessary support to deliver timely and beneficial projects. THIS RECRUITMENT MAY BE USED TO UNDERFILL A STAFF II, ASSOCIATE ENGINEER. INCUMBENT MAY PROGRESS TO THE NEXT LEVEL UPON MEETING THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE, AND APPROVAL OF THE APPOINTING AUTHORITY. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field; OR two years of journey level technical experience equivalent to an Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
