Administrative Assistants perform a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties such as maintaining records and files; composing and editing correspondence; data entry; office management; and budget monitoring.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Department is currently filling three positions. The first position is the Pre-Sentence Unit Supervisor. The position supervises the court services' Pre-Sentence Unit staff and is responsible for overseeing the processing of Pre-Sentence Investigations referred to the Division from the eight Judicial District Courts. The second position is the Court Services Administrative Assistant. The position directly assists the Court Services Lieutenants with multiple administrative functions essential to Pre-Sentence Investigation production and the operations of Court Services Unit. The final position serves as the Executive Assistant to the Command staff. The position directly assists the Command staff with multiple functions including, not limited to: meeting planning, travel coordination and processing reimbursement request, tracking programs such as performance reviews and budget items, taking detailed minutes at various meetings, maintaining lists and spreadsheets, and serving as a liaison with other agencies on behalf of Command staff.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
