JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located within District II, Utilities Section in Reno. Incumbent is responsible for coordination of utility relocation, modification, and/or installation work within the district and providing quality customer services to internal and external customers. Duties include ensuring all utility work meets policy, plan, specification, and standard; reviewing and resolving conflicts of proposed utility activities; performing site review and utility inventories; coordinating with utility companies and acquiring agreements for changes in services; processing payments for reimbursement; and documenting project activities. Incumbent designs, implements, and manages to completion district contracts and special projects. Women and under-represented groups are encouraged to apply. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field; OR two years of journey level technical experience equivalent to an Engineering Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
