Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
Under the general direction of the Director of Authorizing for the State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA), the Education Programs Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the academic framework. The position oversees assessment and accountability efforts including measurement of student progress over time, student achievement, college and career readiness, and schools' mission-specific academic goals. Duties include, but are not limited to, analyzing and interpreting education program related data; developing education standards; and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements. The ideal candidate has detailed knowledge of current issues and best practices in education programs; has general knowledge of educational accountability models; is highly motivated; demonstrates professional, effective written and verbal communication skills; and has quantitative analysis experience in the area of evaluation and measurement of student achievement. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and three years of professional experience in an educational program area; OR one year of experience as an Education Programs Professional in Nevada State service. |
