Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
This position supports the Chief of the Rates Analysis and Development Unit and requires collection of healthcare data; analyzes hospital and other Medicaid provider financial and statistical data; prepares financial reports; assists with developing Medicaid Rates and analyzing rate appeals for Medicaid providers; calculates and prepares analysis showing fiscal impact of rate proposals; reviews and analyzes changes in federal and state law to determine the impact to the agency; drafts state plan amendments and other policies and procedures; and presents at public hearings and provider workshops. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes
Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 7 years of experience of which 2 years were at the paraprofessional level and 5 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
This position requires up to 25% travel.
Additional Position Criteria
Experience with national code sets used for medical billing and/or medical claims data such as Current Procedure Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), Revenue Codes and Diagnosis codes (ICD) is required.
