State Land Agent acquire administer and dispose of lands and building for the State of Nevada.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Under general supervision, incumbents perform the full range of duties described in the series concept at the journey level and associated with the real property authorizations identified above. These activities include the generation of documents associated with these transactions and use of State owned land. The individual interfaces regularly with other state agencies to ensure services to these agencies are completed in a professional and timely manner.
This includes working with other state agencies to evaluate both short and long term land needs. The individual is responsible for coordinating with the managing agency on a regular basis to ensure uses are authorized. The individual is often requested to conduct research in a variety of areas including title research and gathering information and compiling it into reports. This includes review of state and federal laws related to state lands.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, real estate, environmental or natural science, or related field and two years of experience in public lands; real estate, escrow and title, property appraisal, or related field, one year of which included responsibility for property valuations or transactions such as acquisition, disposal, property management or development or leasing; OR one year of experience as a State Land Agent I in Nevada State service, OR and equivalent combination of education and experience.
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
