Health Care Coordinators perform professional work related to Medicaid program operations and auditing providers to ensure compliance with program policies and regulations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the Department of Health and Human Services - Community Based Care, and will be located in Las Vegas, NV. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and promotes a positive work environment. The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible.
Incumbents function at the advanced journey level:
Perform and function as a team leader for assigned programs as a permanent assignment. Incumbents coordinate reviews and services, assist in training, and review complex cases with other Health Care Coordinators. In addition to ongoing lead worker responsibility, incumbents may serve as the primary assistant to the supervisor; develop policies and procedures; assist in the maintenance of the State plan; develop forms and provide technical assistance with the assigned programs and assist with case management. May also provide supervision to HCCII or SWII subordinates.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Licensure as a Social Worker or professional licensure or certification in a medical specialty applicable to the assignment, and two years of professional experience providing case management services in a social or health related field; OR one years of experience as a Health Care Coordinator II in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Professional Licensure or certification as a social worker, nurse on in a medical specialty issued by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Nevada at the time of appointment. Incumbents must maintain professional licensure or certification in their specialty as a condition of continuing employment.
Ability to travel over a wide geographic area, either by motor vehicle or air plane, including commuter flights.
