Business Process Analysts apply an in-depth knowledge of the agency's program areas to define and implement a solution to a given problem that requires an individually tailored response for end-user requirements.
Under limited supervision, incumbents perform the full range of journey level duties described in the series concept. Incumbents may serve as a leadworker as assigned.

This position, working under the general direction of the Business Process Analyst 3, will coordinate with department staff to determine user needs and design, implement, and manage the Geographic Information System (GIS) at the Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA). The selected candidate will analyze user needs, business workflow, policies and regulation; determine project objectives; review available hardware and/or software; identify required project sequencing; provide technical support to users; design, implement and maintain all Department geospatial datasets; and perform quality assurance/quality control procedures; and use Global Positioning System (GPS) hardware and software to collect and validate data in the field and produce program and Department maps. The incumbent will provide support to Department program managers and staff in the assembly of data, data analysis and production of maps of analyzed data; coordinate with other government entities to maintain NDA access and use of relevant partner data; and provide general education and outreach to the public and partnering entities regarding GPS and GIS use and sharing of data.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, management information systems, or other disciplines related to the assignment and two years of professional experience in a related program area analyzing and interpreting program laws, regulations, policies and procedures, which included one year of experience applying recognized data processing concepts to business process planning and analyses; OR one year of experience as a Business Process Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Experience
Experience using GPS to collect data and conduct surveys is required.
Experience providing general education and outreach to the public and partnering entities regarding GPS and GIS use and sharing data is required.
Experience using spatial and non-spatial data analysis methods is required.
Experience using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Software and ESRI ArcGIS Online platform is required
