The Position
Education Programs Professionals assist and foster the growth of K-12, postsecondary, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
This position (located in either Carson City or Las Vegas) manages the School Improvement Grant (SIG) granted to Nevada schools, provides grants management services and gathers valid, reliable, and comprehensive outcome data from SIG-served schools. The EPP serves as the state SIG coordinator and will foster the improvement and growth of SIG through technical assistance and collaboration. The position will be a member of the Title I team (in the Office of Student and School Supports) and also cultivate the growth of the Title I program in his/her assigned local education agencies (LEAs). Moreover, the position will develop tools and resources (such as guidance documents) used by LEAs to accomplish required or desired objectives and oversee school compliance with federal and state requirements by conducting program reviews (i.e. monitoring). As part of this oversight, the EPP will collect, analyze, and report education program related data; assist schools in meeting accountability and reporting requirements; coordinate the development of education standards for various subject areas; develop assessments and security/administration protocol to measure the performance of students, schools, and school districts regarding federal and State standards and indicators, and collaborate with department staff, district and school based educators, administrators, parents, and other partners. The SIG EPP will review SIG and Title I program subgrant or claims requests and recommend approval or denial; monitor and provide assistance regarding funds usage, and manage subgrant applications. S/he will also provide oversight and leadership for supplemental federal and state programs to support office and district-wide initiatives in school improvement. The Department is especially interested in candidates with expertise or experience in implementing effective school and/or district improvement strategies.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area.
Special Requirements
    Positions require statewide travel.
    Some positions require eligibility for a Nevada teacher's license, which may include specific endorsements at the time of application.
    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
