The Position
Education Programs Professionals assist and foster the growth of K-12, postsecondary, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Under the direction of the Office of Student and School Supports Education Programs Supervisor at the Nevada Department of Education, the Education Programs Professional (EPP) provides training, technical assistance, and monitoring of State SB 391 Read By Grade Three program. This position is to be assigned to the Nevada Department of Education Office in Las Vegas. Additionally, this position must demonstrate knowledge of Nevada State requirements related to the assessment of, and effective services for children in kindergarten through third grade who may need interventions in order to meet reading proficiency standards. This position works collaboratively with other education professionals at both the state and local level in designing, implementing, evaluating program effectiveness, and preparing program evaluation reports. This position will be responsible for education programs in Nevada and it requires travel to local school/district sites.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area.

    Positions require program-specific education and/or experience which will be identified by the agency at the time of recruitment.
Special Requirements
    College transcripts must be submitted with the employment application.
    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Experience
    Experience in providing and supporting literacy instruction in early elementary school grades.
    Experience in managing, monitoring and/or implementing federal and/or state grants.
    Experience implementing effective strategies and/or systems for supporting underperforming schools.
